My treasure

My treasure

My treasures are my baseball gloves and my signed ball.

When I was a junior high school student, I belonged to softball club. When I bought my glove for the first time, I went to a sport shop with my mother and I bought a red one. While I was choosing, I remembered that I was bubbling. I practiced hard with the glove in hot days, rainy days and snowy days. The glove was filled with a lot of memories.

But when I moved up to second-year class, I bought a new glove, because my first glove is outfield glove but my position changed from outfield to infield in the second grade. So I went to the baseball shop with my brother who played baseball for 13 years, and I bought a new glove which was orange. My brother chose it for me. The glove was easy to use, and became my favorite.

When I was third grade, Taeko Utsugi, who was a former softball manager for the Japan national team came to my junior high school, and she taught us a lot. After the practice, she gave us a signed ball, and she had written “All your efforts will never betray you”. This phrase gave me hope and courage.

After that our team practiced harder and harder every day. As a result, our team won the championship in Kumamoto prefecture, and we were in the best eight in the Kyusyu tournament.

The gloves and the signed ball are my treasures, which supported me. Now, they are displayed in my room. They are my treasures!
